Creating My Personal ePortfolio of Learning

Creating My Personal ePortfolio of Learning | Android and iPad apps for language teachers | Scoop.it
As I prepare for the EdTech Teacher iPad Summit in Boston next week I've found an incredible opportunity to practice what I will be teaching. I've started a ThingLink ePortfolio to document my own learning throughout the conference. I plan to capture the learning through images, photos and tags to prepare to use and share it.

Thinglink Edu - Your Students Can Use Thinglink Without Email Addresses, Here's How

Thinglink was a big hit in the workshop that I facilitated yesterday in Bettendorf, Iowa. Thinglink can be used to turn any static image into an interactive, multimedia image. Yesterday, we used PicMonkey and PicCollage to create collages about what a good learning environment looks like to us. After creating those collages we saved them as PNG files and uploaded them to Thinglink where we added videos, audio files, and links to articles to enhance our collages and make them interactive.

Embrace ThingLink as an ePortfolio Tool

Embrace ThingLink as an ePortfolio Tool | Android and iPad apps for language teachers | Scoop.it

As a longtime educator and instructional tech coach, I have embraced ePortfolios as a valuable tool for documenting learning over time, self-reflection, goal-setting and growth.

An ePortfolio is a collection of student work that is used to document student effort, progress, and achievement over time. Students become actively involved in their own learning as they engage in goal setting, decision making and self-reflection. ePortfolios are powerful tools for authentic assessment . ePortfolios can be an extremely useful tool for both formative and summative assessment at different stages of the learning process.

Whoa, just whoa.   ThingLink is so cool and what a great way to densify creative products and engage a diversity of learning pathways!    I am going to include this in my next resume for sure.

This week's ThingLink Teacher Challenged asked participants to grab their mobile devices, get away from wifi, and explore use of the ThingLink App beyond the walls.

The ThingLink app makes the most out of the ease of use of the camera and video capabilities available on iOS and Android, allowing users to capture life on the go and become engaged in the learning at the moment.

Educators Explain with ThingLink

Educators Explain with ThingLink | Android and iPad apps for language teachers | Scoop.it

Teachers have been busy creating interactive images for Week 1 of the ThingLink Teacher Challenge. The first challenge was designed for teachers to create an image about something within their realm of expertise to explore the tool without trying to create a complex lesson. The task was to create a "How To" image.
