Who is the best among the "fantastic four" Internet companies: Apple, Facebook, Google and Amazon?

Despite Apple’s massive market cap and blockbuster products, it’s the most vulnerable because it has to constantly maintain its innovation advantage in hardware to keep consumers coming back, said Alec Ellison, chairman of investment banking at Jefferies.

False Illusion of Security

 

For years, Apple users crowed that Macs are safer than PCs and security software is unnecessary – a myth perpetuated by commerce. Cyber criminals focused their efforts on PCs because it’s more profitable to go after the far larger population of PC users. But success breeds danger and a series of large-scale attacks on Macs, as well as major media outlets like The Wall Street Journal, has finally made Mac users feel vulnerable.

Dr. Web's chief executive Boris Sharov, who says Apple never responded when the firm shared its findings on the Flashback botnet.

 

“They told the registrar this [domain] is involved in a malicious scheme. Which would be true if we weren’t the ones controlling it and not doing any harm to users,” says Sharov. “This seems to mean that Apple is not considering our work as a help. It’s just annoying them.”
