La solution d’activation et de paiement du plein d’essence CarPay-Diem est une mise en application concrète de la voiture connectée, compatible avec plus de 100.000 stations-service en Europe. La start-up luxembourgeoise intégrera dès septembre l’incubateur innovation de Volkswagen.

«Après notre présence au CES en janvier dernier à Las Vegas, tout s’est accéléré. Le groupe Cartes Bancaires en France nous a invités à Paris pour participer à VivaTech. Nous avons ensuite été conviés au CeBit à Hanovre où nous avons remporté le concours organisé par Volkswagen, avant d’être finaliste du concours de l’Adac, la plus importante société d’assistance automobile d’Allemagne avec 20 millions de membres.

Ces différents événements nous ont conféré une belle visibilité et ont permis d’élargir le périmètre des territoires intéressés par notre technologie. Un succès qui nous conduit à lancer une nouvelle augmentation de capital pour poursuivre notre développement international. Nous mettons par ailleurs la touche finale à une série de partenariats au Benelux, ces projets étant appelés à être déployés avant la fin de l’année.

During the CES in Las Vegas, ZF Friedrichshafen, a leading car systems supplier announced the selection of CarPay-Diem to be added to its Car eWallet solution as a service provider for fueling capabilities.

Over the last months, ZF in partnership with UBS and IBM has been in development of the Car eWallet, a mobility transaction platform, that allows a full end-to-end integration of mobility services, vehicles and infrastructure. It will enable secure and convenient payments ‘on the go’ for services like parking, charging and now fueling based on CarPay-Diems technology.

“Connecting the Car eWallet technology to the CarPay-Diem platform will allow connected and in the future autonomous cars to pay for the fuel refills while providing the greatest driver experience.”

Thanks to this partnership, when a car equipped with the Car eWallet arrives in a fuel station, the driver selects his pump number on the display of the dashboard, he is then invited to refill the tank. When the nozzle is placed back on the pump the transaction is completed. CarPay-Diem managed the fuel station processes and confirmed the driver that he can leave the fuel station. A simple and straight forward user experience which conveniently saves time for drivers. All refill transactions remain available in the Car eWallet for later use or reporting purpose for example.

Paying for fuel at a petrol station in Luxembourg could be possible from a mobile app before the end of this year.

New technology, created by a team of four people behind Luxembourg start-up  CarPay-Diem, means drivers will no longer have to carry a credit card or wait to complete a transaction at certain petrol stations.

The app, which is set to launch in September with a pilot programme, will automatically switch on a mobile phone as it enters a partnered petrol station through geolocation technology.

"When a user arrives at a station the phone automatically switches on," Chief Executive Officer of CarPay-Diem, Frédéric Stiernon, explained. "The app asks the driver to select the number of the pump and the app then signals when the pump is ready to be used.

"The driver fills up and immediately receives a receipt via the app. It will show the amount of fuel and the price."

La start-up luxembourgeoise CarPay-Diem a remporté le concours de start-up actives dans le domaine du futur de la mobilité et organisé par Volkswagen au Cebit, le salon automobile de Francfort.

Volkswagen a récompensé la start-up luxembourgeoise CarPay-Diem, apprend-on dans l’édition du Wort de ce vendredi. Cette dernière gagne ainsi six mois dans l’incubateur du constructeur allemand à Dresde, ainsi qu’un partenariat avec différentes entités du groupe, qui vise à utiliser la technologie luxembourgeoise dans les voitures actuelles et les futures voitures connectées ou autonomes.

Le Luxembourg présentera pour la première fois au mois de janvier un stand aux couleurs nationales lors du plus grand salon dédié aux nouvelles technologies, le CES de Las Vegas. Huit pépites luxembourgeoises y participeront. Aujourd’hui, nous vous présentons CarPay-Diem.

Depuis sa création, il y a un an et demi, elle cumule les distinctions. Coup de cœur du jury des Fintech Awards 2017, finaliste du concours New Mobility World, qui a lieu chaque année au Salon international de l’automobile de Francfort, ou plus récemment seconde du concours d’intelligence artificielle organisé par Volkswagen... CarPay-Diem fait mouche.
