Die Hacker, die Ende Juli in die Systeme des Luxemburger Energieunternehmens Encevo eingedrungen sind, haben offenbar Kundendaten im Internet veröffentlicht. Darunter sind auch Adressen, E-Mails – und Bankdaten. 


Sensible Daten im Netz: Die Hacker, die das Luxemburger Energieunternehmen Encevo angegriffen haben, haben offenbar Kundendaten im Internet veröffentlicht. „Seit der Attacke gab es eine Veröffentlichung gestohlener Daten im sogenannten Darknet“, teilte das Unternehmen am Montag auf seiner Webseite mit. „Nach derzeitigem Kenntnisstand sind Stammdaten wie Namen, Vornamen, Adressdaten und, falls abgespeichert, E-Mail-Adressen und Telefonnummern betroffen, sowie Bankverbindungen für bestimmte Kundengruppen.“ Encevo war in der Nacht vom 22. auf den 23. Juli Opfer einer Attacke der Ransomware-Software BlackCat geworden. Die Hacker griffen dabei das Firmensystem von außen an, kopierten Daten und blockierten Computersysteme. 

Die betroffenen Kunden werden bald informiert. „Das ist auf jeden Fall geplant“, sagt eine Encevo-Sprecherin gegenüber dem Tageblatt am Mittwochabend. „Unsere Teams aus verschiedenen Abteilungen, IT und Datenforensik-Experten sind noch dabei zu ermitteln und tun alles Mögliche, um die gehackten Daten weiter zu analysieren“, schreibt Encevo auf seiner Website.

The Cybersecurity Agency for the Luxembourg Economy and Municipalities.

Yesterday, the Governing Board of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre officially met for the second time, gathering representatives from Member States, the Commission and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, ENISA.

During the meeting took place the election of the Chair of the Governing board. Pascal Steichen was elected to this position for three years, once renewable. Furthermore, the list of National Competence Centers officially appointed by the Member States was ratified by the board and published.

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, which will be located in Bucharest, together with the Network of National Coordination Centres, will contribute to strengthening European cybersecurity capacities as well as boosting research excellence and the competitiveness of the Union’s industry in this field.

Das Luxemburger Labor Ketterthill hat auf seiner Website einen Datendiebstahl gemeldet, der nach einem Transfer von Kundeninformationen an ein Partnerlabor passiert sein soll. Die Kundendaten seien demnach zuvor an das französische Labor Cerba geschickt worden. Ketterthill ist Teil der Cerba-Healthcare-Gruppe. In der entsprechenden Mitteilung auf der Website heißt es: „Das Cerba-Labor hat uns darüber informiert, dass es Opfer eines Datendiebstahls geworden ist, nachdem einer seiner Dienstleister, der für das Hosting einer seiner Datenbanken zuständig ist, ausgefallen ist.“

Bestimmte biologische Verfahren, die von Ketterthill zwischen dem 1. Januar 2017 und dem 24. Juni 2021 an Cerba vergeben wurden, könnten von diesem Vorfall betroffen sein, erklärt das Unternehmen. Die entsprechende Datenbank sei nach Entdecken des Vorfalls umgehend isoliert und unzugänglich gemacht worden. „Bislang wurde keine böswillige Verwendung der Daten festgestellt“, teilt das Labor mit. Der Datendiebstahl sei den zuständigen Behörden in Frankreich und Luxemburg gemeldet worden.

CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg has announced the launch of a national cybersecurity ecosystem platform.

The initiative was born to bring together and federate all cybersecurity players in Luxembourg as part of the national cybersecurity strategy, developed by the High Commission for National Protection (Haut-commissariat à la Protection nationale - HCPN) in partnership with Luxinnovation and SECURITYMADEIN.LU.

To strengthen the promotion of this ecosystem, a dedicated brand has been created and the CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg Ecosystem platform has now officially launched.

This unique platform makes available the vast expertise, product and service offerings of the CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg ecosystem, by gathering over 300 players divided into three main sectors:

Private Sector: private companies that offer services and solutions in the field of cybersecurity;
Public Sector: authorities and regulators in charge or involved in the application of the regulations applying to the sector, organisations involved in education and research, and sectoral public-private partnerships;
Civil Society: organisations that bring together collective strengths to address cybersecurity topics.
Since cybersecurity is a key asset for a flourishing digital economy and has become a pillar of the national economic development strategy in the last 20 years, more features will be added to the platform in the coming months and further steps will be taken to further position Luxembourg as a key player in Europe and internationally in the field of cybersecurity.

«L’adoption des bons réflexes». C'est le bouclier «le plus imparable» pour se protéger des éventuelles cyberattaques. C'est en tous cas le message délivré par l’Agence nationale de la sécurité des systèmes d’information (ANSSI) et CASES Luxembourg*, qui annoncent ce lundi le lancement de la plateforme secure-iot.lu, en partenariat avec le Syndicat intercommunal de gestion informatique (SIGI), POST Luxembourg et la Représentation de la Commission européenne au Luxembourg. Objectif affiché: faire comprendre les implications de l’utilisation d’objets connectés (smartphones, montres connectées, jouets connectés...) et fournir un large éventail de conseils et bonnes astuces pour déjouer les risques associés.

The Lycée Guillaume Kroll, which is launching a higher education program in IT security, is positioning itself as one of the country’s centers of expertise in the field, and as intends to collaborate with startups.

In Esch-sur Alzette, the Lycée Guillaume Kroll is setting up a higher technician’s certificate (BTS) in cybersecurity, scheduled to start next autumn.

Launched by a group of teachers, in collaboration with ministerial experts in the field, the initiative positions the school as one of the poles of IT expertise alongside Lycées des Arts et Métiers (Luxembourg City) and Edward Steichen (Clervaux).

The school already offers two courses of this type in cloud computing and communication technologies.

Cactus Supermarkets have announced that three of its stores, namely Cactus Windhof, Cactus Merl and Cactus Bonnevoie, remain closed due to an IT problem within the group's infrastructure.

They acknowledged that origin of the incident lies in a hacking incident. They also confirmed that credit card payments remain completely secure.

They reported that their IT engineers are actively working to quickly and promptly restore all systems, and hope that this incident has minimum impact on the provision and quality of services aprovided, thanking their customers for their understanding and patience in the event of inconvenience.

Die Internetpräsenz der Universität Luxemburg ist zurzeit das Ziel eines Hackerangriffs. Die Kurse, die angesichts der Corona-Pandemie online stattfinden, sind davon allerdings nicht betroffen.
Wer im Moment die Webpräsenz uni.lu ansteuert, könnte Pech haben: Seit Montagnachmittag, 20. April, ist die offizielle Website zeitweilig nicht erreichbar, weil sie digital unter Beschuss steht – durch einen „DDoS“-Angriff. DDoS steht für Distributed-Denial-of-Service und bezeichnet die absichtlich herbeigeführte Überlastung der Server durch eine künstliche aufgeblähte Anzahl an Zugriffen.

Die Server können diesen Ansturm nicht verarbeiten und verweigern schließlich den Dienst. Die Universität Luxemburg unterrichtet die Öffentlichkeit über ihren Facebook-Account über den Angriff.

Bei der „DigiRallye“ lernen Kinder, wie sie sich im Internet selbst schützen können.

Die Mitarbeiter von Bee Secure sind sich schon lange bewusst, dass es unheimlich wichtig ist, Kinder genauer über das Internet und die digitale Welt zu informieren, daher haben sie gestern bereits zum neunten Mal die „DigiRallye“ organisiert. Eine Veranstaltung, für die sich ausschließlich „Maisons relais“ anmelden können. Rund 100 Acht- bis Zwölfjährige haben in diesem Jahr ihren Weg ins Forum Geesseknäppchen gefunden. Neben zahlreichen Informationen zur Berufswelt des digitalen Bereichs und zur Cybersicherheit, die altersgerecht vermittelt werden, können sie aktiv mitwirken und in spielerischen Diskussionsrunden ihr Wissen beweisen und erweitern. „Es geht in erster Linie um Prävention und Sensibilisierung. Das Internet vergisst nicht, je früher man das versteht, desto besser. Die Kinder gewährleisten eigentlich ihren eigenen Schutz im Internet“, erklärt Aurore Napolitano, die für die Kommunikation bei Bee Secure zuständig ist. Um das Ganze noch etwas spaßiger zu gestalten, wird den jungen Teilnehmern ein Heftchen ausgeteilt, in dem sie nach jeder bestandenen Mission Stempel sammeln.

Ein Gesellschaftsspiel, um Kinder zum Thema Cyber-Sicherheit zu sensibilisieren.

Ziel dieses Brettspieles ist es, den Spielern klar zu machen, dass das Internet eine physische Infrastruktur ist, dass die Daten in Datenzentren kopiert werden, und dass jegliches Verhalten im Internet beobachtet wird. Die Kinder werden auf spielerische Art und Weise die weitgreifenden und unvermeidlichen Risiken im Internet nahe gebracht.

Die 20-minütigen Partien belohnen die "guten Online-Nachrichten" und sanktionieren die schlechten mit symbolischen Jetons und Spielmarken. Der Spieler, der die meisten grünen Jetons und Lebensmarken gesammelt hat, gewinnt.

The Luxembourg Institute of Standardisation, Accreditation, Safety and Quality of Products and Services (ILNAS) and SECURITYMADEIN.LU held a conference on "Standarisation & Cybersecurity" on Monday 21 October 2019.

With the spread of connected digital systems, information and communication technologies (ICTs) are subject to ever more numerous and sophisticated cyberattacks. Technical standards provide guidelines and good practices for dealing with these risks and for better protecting cyberspace. In this context, ILNAS and SECURITYMADEIN.LU invited national stakeholders to a conference last week to present relevant technical standardisation activities for the cybersecurity domain and their link to the national ecosystem.

Thus was born the idea of launching a platform that would allow them to test and detect the most obvious vulnerabilities without falling into full-blown “Pentests”, which are costly and resource-intensive. For this purpose, C3 partnered with several local providers, including Hacknowledge (see our article “Monitor The Security Of Your Company With Hacknowledge“), but also Stidia, Conostix, Imrim and Secconsult. It was necessary to find a solution that could cover as many organisations as possible without mobilizing an excessive amount of resources. As a result, C3 decided to focus on two particularly vulnerable areas: email server attacks and connected objects. The platform is not intended to replace existing market solutions but to allow security companies to expand their portfolio and reach more customers.

ESORICS 2019 Conference: Researchers at the University of Luxembourg have discovered a flaw in the security standard used in biometric passports (e-passports) worldwide since 2004. This standard, ICAO 9303, allows e-passport readers at airports to scan the chip inside a passport and identify the holder.

Most passports today use the standard ICAO 9303, which is issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The standard is designed to ensure that the privacy and unlinkability of the passport holder is protected to the highest degree. Unlinkability ensures that an attacker could not distinguish if two elements are closely related.

Dr Ross Horne, Prof. Sjouke Mauw, PhD candidate Zach Smith and Master student Ihor Filimonov tested the standard. They discovered a flaw which allows specific non-authorised equipment to access passport data. “With the right device, you can scan passports in close vicinity and reidentify previously observed passport holders, keeping track of their movements”, Dr Horne explains. “Thus, passport holders are not protected against having their movements traced by an unauthorised observer.”

Selon nos informations, l’École 42, qui a bâti une méthode unique de formation accélérée pour les très demandés codeurs ou programmeurs, devrait aussi ouvrir une antenne au Luxembourg. Pas d’annonce avant le 16 mai, répond l’école à notre demande… donc sans nier mais en indiquant que quand rien n’est signé, rien n’est signé.

Luxembourg est l’endroit au monde qui paie le mieux les salariés qui y sont recrutés dans la cybersécurité, affirme une étude de Techshielder… mais les places sont chères, et le coût de la vie est élevé. L’offre de formations continue de s’y étoffer intelligemment.

À 129.163 euros le salaire annuel, Luxembourg est la ville qui paie le mieux ses experts en cybersécurité dans le monde. Inutile de s’y précipiter, nuancent aussitôt les analystes de Techshielder: le coût de la vie y est plus élevé que dans les autres villes étudiées dans son étude publiée début août, et le nombre de places y est nettement inférieur. Mieux vaut aller, selon eux, à Washington, Singapour et Berlin, dans l’ordre du podium.

On Tuesday 4 May 2021, His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke and Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, visited the premises of SECURITYMADEIN.LU, the Cybersecurity Agency for the Luxembourg Economy and Municipalities.

After a general presentation of the agency's activities,the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Economy Minister attended demonstrations including a scenario in ROOM#42, a cyber crisis simulator that allows teams participating in such an exercise to identify areas for improvement in order to consolidate their collective competence in crisis management.

A pillar of economic attractiveness for Luxembourg, "cybersecurity is fundamental to the development of a trusted digital economy" recalled Minister Franz Fayot, who congratulated Pascal Steichen, CEO of SECURITYMADEIN. LU, and his team for the work carried out in investigating and responding to incidents on the one hand and in supporting Luxembourg companies for better prevention and management of cyber risk on the other.

François Thill, Cybersecurity Director at the Ministry of the Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SECURITYMADEIN.LU, thanked the government for its continued support in the development of cybersecurity in Luxembourg, allowing the country to position itself as a major player in Europe in this field.

Das amerikanische Sicherheitsunternehmen Cyble sagt: Luxemburgs Supermarktgruppe Cactus wurde nicht nur Opfer einer Cyberattacke – die Hacker stahlen auch große Mengen an sensiblen Daten. Die Kriminellen drohen laut Cyble damit, die Daten zu veröffentlichen. 

Drei Supermärkte des Luxemburger Unternehmens Cactus mussten am vergangenen Mittwoch schließen. Der Grund: ein Hackerangriff. Seit Anfang dieser Woche sind alle Geschäfte wieder auf. Das Unternehmen wollte sich am Montag nicht gegenüber dem Tageblatt äußern – erklärte jedoch, die Polizei eingeschaltet zu haben.

Der Webserver der nationalen IT-Infrastruktur für den Bildungsbereich ist seit Donnerstagmittag Ziel eines Angriffs.
Der Webserver "www.restena.lu" des "Réseau Téléinformatique de l’Education Nationale et de la Recherche" (Restena) ist seit Donnerstag 13 Uhr Ziel einer so genannten DDOS-Attacke. Der Webserver ist derzeit nicht verfügbar, wie Restena-Direktor Gilles Massen dem LW bestätigte.

"Es handelt sich um ein Angriff kleineren Umfangs, wie jener der vor Kurzem auf die Server der Uni Luxemburg verübt wurde," so Massen. Ein Datenleck habe es nicht gegeben: "Auf dem Server sind ohnehin keine sensiblen Daten gespeichert, es handelt sich um unsere ganz normale Webseite, auf der wir unsere Organisation präsentieren". Die Attacke nutze keine besonders hohe Bandbreite (siehe Kasten) und sei eher "nervig als wirklich gefährlich".

Silicon Luxembourg has announced that the number of cybersecurity companies in Luxembourg has doubled in the past five years.

Between 2015 and 2020, the number of companies belonging to the Luxembourg Cybersecurity Ecosystem has doubled to 304. Ten years ago, the Grand Duchy boasted approximately fifteen cybersecurity companies.

The Ministry of Economy has been actively promoting cybersecurity since 2010 through its SECURITYMADEIN.LU platform. Now, according to a study carried out by the Market Intelligence team of Luxinnovation and SECURITYMADEIN.LU, cybersecurity is becoming one of the most important pillars of Luxembourg’s economy. Creating a cybersecurity-focused incubator would thus make it possible to attract more specialists, as well as diversifying the products offered which currently focus mainly on advice on governance and risk identification, management of digital identities and access rights, and data protection.

In the meantime, Luxembourg has developed a branding dedicated to its new ecosystem, which will be used for the first time at the the International Cybersecurity Forum (FIC) in Lille, France at the end of January. Luxembourg’s pavilion, which is supported by the Ministry of the Economy, the Chamber of Commerce and SECURITYMADEIN.LU, will display this new coat of arms, aiming to increase the visibility of the country’s policy on this subject.

Die Luxemburger Justiz hat Zugriff auf insgesamt 74 Datenbanken. Auf der Liste steht unter anderem auch der „Ju-cha-Fichier“. Das teilt RTL am Dienstag mit.

Die Luxemburger Justizbeamten haben 74 Datenbanken, auf die sie zugreifen können. Die entsprechende Liste soll RTL eigener Aussage nach vorliegen. Demnach befindet sich auch die bereits bekannten „Ju-cha-Fichier“ und die GO-AML auf der Liste. Weiterhin sollen aber auch noch unbekannte Datenbanken mit Fingerabdrücken, Gefangenendossiers, Beschlagnahmungen von Autos, Eidesleistungen oder auch eine Datenbank zum sozialpädagogischen Zentrum Dreiborn auf der Liste stehen.

Depuis 2010, Security Made In Lëtzebuerg (securitymadein.lu) intervient en urgence en entreprise en cas d’incident cyber et forme toutes les personnes intéressées aux bonnes pratiques en la matière. Forscher der Universität Luxemburg haben einen Fehler im Sicherheitsstandard entdeckt, der seit 2004 weltweit bei sogenannten elektronischen Pässen verwendet wird. Demnach können solche Pässe aus der Distanz ausgelesen und dessen Inhaber identifiziert werden.

Der Standard ICAO 9303 ermöglicht eigentlich das Scannen dieser Pässe an dafür vorgesehenen e-Pass-Readern, zum Beispiel an Flughäfen. Der Standard wird dabei von der Internationalen Zivilluftfahrtorganisation (International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO) vorgegeben und ist weltweit gültig. Er soll verhindern, dass gewisse Informationen, die auf dem Pass enthalten sind, miteinander verknüpft werden können.
