Not leaving Luxembourg this summer? Why not ditch the car for two wheels and cycle through the gloriously picturesque Moselle valley, stopping off for tastings at vineyards and picnicking on the river banks.

Wine buffs and novices can't fail to be captivated by the rolling green hills of vines lining the Moselle valley on Luxembourg's border with Germany. And exploring this stunning region has never been simpler thanks to a handy regional bike hire services offered by Miselerland, allowing cyclists to collect and return hired bikes from a handful of locations along the valley.

For as little as 12 euros for a day, visitors can hire bikes in Wasserbillig and travel the length of the country, exploring its rich viticulture along the way.

The Route du Vin is flat so perfect for inexperienced riders. Meanwhile, its riverside path offers a safe alternative to cycling along the country's busy main roads.

Highlights include Wasserbillig's vast aquarium offering a fascinating insight into local fish species, the stunning cellars of crémant producer Poll-Fabaire in Wormeldange, offering tastings and shopping.
