The Cybersecurity Agency for the Luxembourg Economy and Municipalities.

 

Yesterday, the Governing Board of the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre officially met for the second time, gathering representatives from Member States, the Commission and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, ENISA.

 

During the meeting took place the election of the Chair of the Governing board. Pascal Steichen was elected to this position for three years, once renewable. Furthermore, the list of National Competence Centers officially appointed by the Member States was ratified by the board and published.

 

The European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, which will be located in Bucharest, together with the Network of National Coordination Centres, will contribute to strengthening European cybersecurity capacities as well as boosting research excellence and the competitiveness of the Union’s industry in this field.

The Luxembourg authorities will be participating in "Cyber Europe 2018 - Preparing Aviation to Respond to Cyber Crises" on 6 and 7 June 2018.

The Office of the High Commissioner for National Protection (HCPN), the National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI.lu) and the GOVCERT of the Luxembourg Government (Computer Emergency Response Team) are set to take part in the 5th edition of Cyber Europe exercises this week.

Cyber ​​Europe 2018 is a large pan-European cyber security exercise organised by the European Cyber ​​Security Agency (ENISA). The exercise involves simulating a major cyber attack on the civil aviation sector. Scaffolded in the field of civil aviation, the scenario of the year 2018 "Preparing Aviation to Respond to Cyber ​​Crises", will take place in a real context and will consist in simulating incidents on the information systems of airports of the European Union. The incidents will be progressively developed until they reach a situation of crisis of European scale.
